California

I have spent six years in Los Angeles while completing my Ph.D. and it is safe to say that California has become my second home. I was fairly reluctant at first, coming from a small town and feeling intimidated by such large cities and highways.

However, over the years, I learned to navigate it and to avoid feeling stressed and overwhelmed while being stuck in traffic for hours, which is inevitable... I realized good timing is all I needed to be out of Los Angeles and camping in a beautiful place within a matter of hours. I began to truly enjoy having the ability to go camping, surfing, hiking, and skiing at any time of the year.

Although the Basque Country will always be my home, I have found something in California that I truly love and have since been living here happily for the past couple of years.
